Dear friends,

(Fr Richard remains on annual leave, until Tuesday, 20 January.)

Each year in January Christians pray especially for the unity of the Church, and this year’s Week of Prayer for Christian Unity resources can be found here. Focussing this year on Ephesians 4.4, these prayers and meditations remind us that the call to unity is a call to work for peace for all people everywhere. Unity is a divine mandate at the core of our Christian identity. It represents the essence of the Church’s calling – a call to reflect the harmonious oneness of our life in Christ amidst our diversity. This divine unity is central to our mission, and is sustained by the profound love of Jesus Christ, who has set before us a unified purpose. Please pray especially for our brother and sister Christians in Kenton, and for the persecuted Church around the world.

Please see Pat to confirm your kind contribution to the bring-and-share parish lunch after the Confirmation Mass, with Bishop Jonathan, on Sunday, 8 February.

There will be a Youth Group outing during the February half-term holiday, to FlipOut Watford, the afternoon of Tuesday, 17 February (at a cost of £10pp, to include food and drink): please sign up in church, by 8 February. We hope to share this activity with our friends from St Alphage, Burnt Oak.

Please now return last year’s palm crosses, to be burned to generate the ash for Ash Wednesday this year, 18 February – with Masses at 9.30am and 6pm.

Please also find herewith attached an invitation to the Patronal Festival celebrations at St Agnes, Kennington on 21 January.

Loving Lord, accept the prayers of all your faithful children throughout the world, who call out to you with one mind, one voice and one heart,

Fr Richard
